Ultra Low Power Wireless 802.11 Sensor Family Leverages Global Hotspots
Robust, Highly Secure, Proven Mesh Technology in Battery Powered Sensors
Cincinnati, OH (March 1st, 2008) Walker Wirless LLC (www.walkerwirelessco.com) introduces the new ConceptOne ultra low power (ULP) 802.11 Sensor Family. These sensors are designed to leverage over 217,000 Commercial and Industrial global HOTSPOTS. These products enable IT Managers to obtain added value from their WiFi network build out. The product family consists of Temperature, Humidity, Thermistor, RTD and Vibration Modules with integrated 802.11 radios supporting 128 bit encryption with WEP, WPA2 and WPA2 PSK security. Recently developed ultra low power (ULP) silicon chip technology enables years of operation on a single AA battery. The sensors are designed to work with Industry Standard 802.11 Access Points for easy installation. This capability eliminates the need for repeaters, controllers, and coordinators typically needed for most wireless deployments. The 802.11 Integration Strategy reduces installation and on-going maintenance costs associated with the usual Overlay Strategy of installing yet another wireless network where on already exists.
Walker Wireless LLC, founded in 1986, provides infrared and radio frequency solutions to Hospitals, Retailers, Libraries, Colleges and Universities. Typical applications include traffic counting, and the monitoring of temperatures in freezers, coolers, cryogenic chambers, and computer rooms.
